Hertha BSC may lose another key player as Tjark Ernst could move to VfL Wolfsburg. The 23-year-old has reportedly held advanced talks with the Wolves. According to the Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung, Ernst is set to replace Polish national goalkeeper Kamil Grabara. The first-choice goalkeeper of the Blue and Whites is said to be seeking a new challenge in Wolfsburg. Other sources report that Ernst has also received offers from the Bundesliga. Negotiations with Hertha BSC would not be necessary in the event of his departure, as the goalkeeper has a release clause of five million euros in his contract. His sale would be another significant sporting loss for the Berliners, but it would also bring in fresh money. Florian Kastenmeier could replace Ernst, having recently turned down an offer from Werder Bremen. At Hertha, Kastenmeier would have a realistic chance of becoming the first-choice goalkeeper. In the capital, he would likely have to compete with Marius Gersbeck. Hannover 96 is also said to be interested in Kastenmeier. The goalkeeper himself is reportedly hoping to become the first-choice goalkeeper at a Bundesliga club.
