What happened?

The hosts started very aggressively and created several good chances in the course of the first half. Hertha goalkeeper Tjark Ernst thwarted the greatest Bielefeld opportunity by Marius Wörl.

Why was the game so important?

Hertha BSC had to play without ten players, including Michal Karbownik and Luca Schuler. Janne Berner made his starting debut, with Sebastian Grönning starting up front.
